What are the benefits?

In just 1-3 sessions Lumecca improves the appearance of: age spots (red/brown pigmentations), vascular lesions such as poikiloderma and facial telangiectasias (spider veins), rosacea (redness), freckles and sun damage.

What steps must be taken before the procedure?

Avoid direct and excessive sun exposure or tanning one month prior to treatment.

What should I expect during & after Lumecca?

During treatment there will be a bright flash of light that creates an elastic sensation. Redness and a slight warming of the skin are normal post procedure and usually subsides within an hour.

Over the next 24-48 hours, you may see a darkening of pigmented spots and in the following weeks, lesions will flake off, promoting a more even skin tone. After treating vascular lesions, you may see the vein blanch and disappear, or a colour change in the vessel which dissipates after a few days.

How many sessions are required?

An improved appearance of the skin can be achieved after the first treatment. Multiple sessions provide even better results and your personalised regime will depend on the severity of damage, skin type, areas of focus (vascular vs sun exposure) and energy settings.

How quickly will I see results?

Sun damage and complexion changes can be seen a few days after your first session. The skin will continue to look younger and more vibrant over time, with most visible results experienced after 1-2 weeks. Multiple Lumecca sessions will improve the final outcome and for vascular treatments such as facial telangiectasias, improvements can be seen at around 2 weeks.

Are there any side-effects?

Most patients do not experience side effects and common skin reactions (redness) usually resolves within a few hours. Patients may find they are sensitive to sunlight immediately after treatment and it is recommended to avoid direct sunlight and tanning.
